last lawmaker out please close the statehouse door

The Statehouse Goes Quiet

After 93 days, the state's third-longest session of the Idaho Legislature came to a close last night.

As lawmakers scuttled for the doors, a positively giddy Gov. Dirk Kempthorne told reporters it was "one of the most progressive sessions" in recent history.

As you might imagine, other analyses have begun to emerge.

Randy Stapilus over at Ridenbaugh Press is already making some judgements about the session to come.

The left-wing blogosphere has begun to ponder the leftovers. Red State Rebels folds in commentary from Dem gov candidate Jerry Brady and the Democratic caucus.

For the breathless run-down of every property tax bill to ever poke its head into a committee, follow the sine die action over at Betsy Russell's Eye on Boise. Plus, you'll find out just what "ugly tie" really means.

Oh, can't help myself: other perspectives abound.
